I very quickly noticed just how many salespeople don’t have a system or process in place, and I watched them fail every day.
Being in this environment, I made a pact to myself that this wasn’t going to be me.
So, I started to do the exact opposite to the behaviour I was witnessing, and I quickly became the highest paid junior person in that business within 3 months.
I then went on to work for my family business selling tiles and bathrooms.
I took what I had learned from my previous job, and came up with a specific way that I would engage in a conversation with people that would result in getting a deal done.
And it worked really well.
Believe it or not, I used to get thank you cards for selling to people!
I realised that the conversations I was having with my prospects - both over the phone and face to face - were something that I didn’t experience anywhere as a consumer myself.
Everywhere I went I was faced with sleazy, slick, gift-of-the-gab sales people, and it felt horrible.
So, in 2017, I followed this calling and left the family business to begin a new journey.
I felt I had a gift that would help other people sell their products and services with confidence and grace, so that they could stop sounding like those horrible sales people we all hate.
So, I started a brand new consulting business from scratch with just 4 things:
A phone…
My voice…
A service that could help people get better results…
And a super simple process to open up a friendly conversation, that (if we were a good match) would result in us doing business together.
And in just 12 weeks, I was generating £48k per month.
This process worked perfectly back then, and continues to work now for me and my clients.
In fact, it’s now helping people to grow their businesses in 19 different countries across the world, from start-ups to multi 6 and 7 figure businesses, and everything in between!
